It is a well known fact that concrete is the material of choice for most construction activities in India. Buildings, roads, bridges are all constructed using concrete.

However to ensure that the concrete being used for construction is of good quality and meets the acceptability criteria set by the Indian standard codes, there are wide variety of tests which are required to be conducted. Some of these tests can be conducted in the field whereas most other tests are carried out in a concrete testing lab. One of the most important test which is conducted in the lab is compression test which determines the strength of concrete. Other tests include tests on construction aggregates, cement and water.

The durability and safety of any concrete structure depends on the use of proper concrete which in turn depends on the reliability of test results issued by a concrete testing lab. Hence it is essential that any project owner or contractor selects the testing lab by judging the expertise and experience of the team behind it.
